Why we created FinMaple

When we arrived in Canada, we faced the same reality as millions of Latinos: a completely different financial system, in another language, with rules nobody explains. Opening a bank account, understanding what a credit score is, choosing between TFSA and RRSP, filing taxes for the first time… everything was new and confusing.

We searched for information in Spanish and found very little. What was available was generic, translated from English sources, or outdated. There was no financial guide specifically designed for Latinos in Canada – people who send remittances, who start from scratch with their credit, who need to understand the Canadian tax system while navigating a new culture.

FinMaple was born from that real need. We are not a bank or a financial company. We are a Latino family in Canada who decided to create the resource we wish we had the day we arrived. Every article, every guide, every tool is based on our own experience and hours of research so you don’t have to go through the same thing.
